Language worldview of Russian and Chinese students reflected in concepts “work”, “labor”, “business”

Abstract

The article is dedicated to analyzing of concepts “work”, “labor”, “business” as basic ideas in worldviews of national cultures.  The article’s idea is to find out what proverbs about work, labor and business are the most important and interesting for Russian and Chinese students and also to find similarities and differences in their worldviews through the example of such kind of proverbs. Results of the associative experiment were provided; lists of proverbs mentioned by students were formed in the course of the experiment. The worldview fragments of both groups were composed and compared on the basis of provided associations.
